Excellent service start to finish. Our first shout out to Lincoln who was our POC for everything from booking the vacation, filling out stuff, answering all our questions and for being always responsive and helpful. Second shout out to the service we received while in the car and at the hotels. Strong free wifi always in the car no matter how remote the location we were in, we always had the fastest and reliable internet. A mini fridge with unlimited water and cold drinks for us at all times. While at the hotels we were always received with a warm welcome, an excellent service, amazing food options, helpful staff, clean and cozy rooms. Lastly, and biggest shout out to our amazing driver Patrick who drove us everywhere from start to finish. From picking us up from the hotels, taking us on game drives, patiently waiting for us to take pictures of all the beautiful animals no matter how many times we ask him to stop for a quick snap, for his impeccable driving skills in one of the most challenging terrains I have even experienced, for his absolutely incredible memory to remember every single location for our hotels, all the crazy roads without any sings, while still managing to find the best spots to see wildlife every single time. Patrick is one of the rare gems who knew was extremely patient with us, kind, caring and helpful. His knowledge of identifying every unique animal and bird was always on point. I cannot recommend enough how much we enjoyed as a family of 4, if we ever decide to do this all over again, we will not hesitate to book again with Imara African Safari.
An Incredible Safari Adventure in Kenya Our safari through Kenya was everything we had hoped for and more. From the first inquiry to the final day of the trip, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. A huge thank you goes to our guide, Sammy who made this journey truly unforgettable. His expertise, enthusiasm, and deep understanding of the wildlife and local culture added so much value to every game drive. He always knew where to be at the right time, giving us countless opportunities to witness amazing animal encounters and breathtaking landscapes. Throughout the trip, Sammy was reliable, friendly, and incredibly attentive. Whether answering our questions, sharing fascinating insights, or ensuring we were comfortable, he consistently went above and beyond to make our experience special. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, allowing us to enjoy the diverse beauty of the Masai Mara, Amboseli and Nakuru at a relaxed pace. We would wholeheartedly recommend Sammy and the entire team to anyone looking for a well-organized, authentic, and memorable safari experience. It was truly a trip we’ll never forget.

Our experience with Imara was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end, and honestly exceeded even our very high expectations. The booking process was incredibly smooth. We were assisted by Lincoln, who was extremely patient, answered all of our questions, and gave us excellent recommendations throughout the planning process. He perfectly understood both what we wanted from the trip and our budget, and helped us find the best possible options in terms of value for money. Another major factor in our decision to book with Imara was their response time. When they say they are available 24/7, they truly mean it. Planning a safari involves a lot of back-and-forth communication, and having such fast, reliable responses made a huge difference and gave us a lot of confidence throughout the process. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. We were welcomed at the airport by our guide in a very comfortable vehicle, and the next day we had the lovely surprise of being greeted by the entire Imara team at our hotel. Everyone was incredibly kind and thoughtful — they even brought us very cute (and genuinely useful) safari gifts — and they carefully reviewed the entire itinerary with us before the trip started. The overall structure and organization of the company are excellent. The safari vehicle was new, extremely comfortable, equipped with Wi-Fi, and stocked with cold water, soft drinks, and other amenities that made long game drives much more enjoyable. And then there was our guide, Simon — truly the soul of the trip. Before coming to Kenya, I had read many times that the guide can make or break a safari experience, and now I completely understand why. We could not have been luckier to have Simon as our guide. He is a true superstar. His knowledge about Kenya, the parks, wildlife, and animal behavior is incredibly extensive. Beyond that, he is an exceptionally careful and skilled driver, which made us feel safe and relaxed throughout the entire trip. His logistics and time-management skills were also impressive, ensuring we made the most of every day without ever feeling rushed. He was fun, professional, and deeply passionate about what he does. One thing that especially stood out to us was how committed he was to giving us the best wildlife sightings possible while still maintaining a very respectful attitude toward the animals and the safari environment. Unfortunately, we saw some vehicles from other companies behaving quite aggressively around wildlife, but Simon always prioritized respect for nature and ethical safari practices, which we appreciated enormously. All four accommodations we stayed at were fantastic and memorable in their own way. We also really appreciated the constant support from the Nairobi office throughout the journey — not just from Simon, who was with us every day, but also from the central team checking in frequently to make sure everything was going well. Overall, this trip was far beyond our expectations — and our expectations were already very high. Everything was smooth, beautifully organized, and completely stress-free from start to finish. I would recommend Imara without hesitation to anyone planning a safari in the region, and I would absolutely book with them again in the future.
A fantastic experience from the moment of booking until the end of the trip. The itinerary was prepared incredibly quickly, especially because we decided everything at the last minute. Lincoln was always present and available, adapting the trip to make it perfect for us. Our driver and guide, Simon, was an amazing and genuinely pleasant person. He put all his passion into trying to show us as many animals as possible and not only that. Thanks to him, we experienced moments and saw things we will never forget. All the hotels were fantastic, and it was always a real pleasure to return there in the evening after a full day out. Despite the low season, the few vehicles around made the whole experience feel even more magical and the weather was perfect. A beautiful trip, organised with great care. Thank you again
We were very pleased with our 7-day safari booked through Imara! In short: Simon was an amazing guide - flexible, kind, and a great travel companion. Good service, good program, and flexibility to tailor the trip to our needs, both before the trip as during the trip. We booked our trip with Wendy just a couple of weeks before departure. She was happy to assist, responded quickly and could help us answering some question we had about travelling during the rainy season (conclusion: please go!). We were offered some nice upgrades that made our trip just a bit more memorable. On the day of arrival, they arranged an airport pick up to our hotel. The day we started the safari, we had a warm welcome by the Imara team at our hotel, and were set off with some safari presents. During our trip we visited Amboselli NP, Lake Naivasha, cycled at Hell’s gate, did game drives at Lake Nakuru NP and ended our trip at Masai Mara NP. We were happily surprised about the number of game drives and activities, that were all unique in their own way. The parks were really really amazing! With water levels in the lake rising, we feel that the visit to the peninsula at Lake Naivasha was a bit less special compared to the other activities, but it was a welcome way to break the long trip from Amboselli to Lake Nakuru. In general we feel that the trip was planned making very efficient use of our time, without becoming too stringent or tiring. The lodges were all in all good to very good quality for a mid-range trip. We were especially pleased with our stays in Kibo Safari Camp (shout out to Anthony managing the restaurant) and Sarova Lion Hill (the best food we had on the trip). And then the highlight of our trip: doing game drives with Simon, our guide. Simon is a wonderfull person, he listens very well to your wishes and is always happy to explain why certain choices are made. Especially within the rainy season, this is vital to make the most of your trip and skip being out during optional heavy showers. Thank you Simon for making our trip so memorable! We look back to an amazing safari trip and would recommend Imara 10 out of 10 to anyone who wants to explore the magin of the Kenian savanna!

Karibu, and thank you for considering Imara.
When you send us a brief, you reach a Nairobi-based team — not a call centre, not a chatbot. I personally read every itinerary request and come back with thoughts within minutes, not days.
Imara was built by East-African guides, conservationists and naturalists who've spent decades inside the parks where you'll travel. Routes off the obvious circuit. Lodges chosen for character, not commission. Drivers who can read the dust at eighty metres.
If something on this page catches your eye — or you have only the rough sketch of a trip in mind — write to me directly. We'll come back with something honest, well-considered, and entirely yours.
