June to October – Best Overall Safari Season
This is the premier time to visit Tarangire Treetops. During the dry season, wildlife concentrates around the Tarangire River and permanent water sources, creating some of the best game-viewing opportunities in Tanzania. Massive elephant herds, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and numerous antelope species are regularly seen.
July to October – Elephant Migration Peak
Tarangire is famous for hosting some of Africa's largest elephant concentrations. The lodge is located along an annual elephant migration corridor, making this period particularly spectacular for elephant encounters.
November to March – Green Season
The landscape transforms into a lush green paradise after the rains. Birdwatching becomes exceptional with migratory birds arriving from Europe and Asia. The scenery is beautiful, visitor numbers are lower, and the safari experience feels more exclusive.
April to May – Low Season
These are the long-rain months. While wildlife is more dispersed and some roads can be muddy, guests enjoy dramatic green landscapes, excellent photography, lower rates, and very few visitors.
