A Boutique Safari Retreat in the Heart of the Maasai Mara
An exclusive, beautifully elevated luxury retreat perched on the Oloololo Escarpment, offering magnificent panoramic vistas over the Mara Triangle and a serene sanctuary for witnessing the Great Migration.
Pearl Mara is a five-star boutique luxury camp perched along the crest of the Oloololo Escarpment, commanding sweeping views over the Mara Triangle. Rather than sitting on the plains, it looks down on them — a vantage that gives guests private-deck panoramas of the savannah alongside a strong wellness offering of spa treatments, yoga and a fitness centre.
The camp overlooks the Mara Triangle, the wildlife-rich western section of Kenya's Masai Mara ecosystem. Access is by scheduled flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to a Mara airstrip in around 45 to 60 minutes, or a 5 to 6-hour road journey via Narok. From July to October the Great Migration sweeps across the plains below, and guests can watch herds of wildebeest and zebra move through the landscape from their own decks; the Big Five, resident big cats and Maasai cultural visits fill the rest of the year.
Accommodation is limited to 13 units — luxury safari tents and a family suite — several with private plunge pools or hot tubs, complemented by farm-to-table dining, bush dinners, a firepit boma and a resident naturalist. The architecture is built into the hillside for privacy and uninterrupted views.
Pearl Mara is best combined with time inside the Masai Mara National Reserve itself; the 3-day fly-in Maasai Mara safari is the most efficient way to reach this corner of the ecosystem from Nairobi.

Pearl Mara is a luxury tented lodge perched on the Oloololo Escarpment overlooking the famous Mara Triangle, one of the most wildlife-rich sections of the Maasai Mara ecosystem. Its elevated location offers panoramic views of the plains and front-row access to the Great Migration season.
This is the premier time to visit Pearl Mara. The dry season delivers exceptional wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources and open plains. It is also the peak period for the Great Wildebeest Migration, with dramatic river crossings and large predator concentrations throughout the Mara ecosystem.
This period offers warm days, clear skies, and excellent game viewing. Predator sightings are often outstanding, and the reserve is less crowded than during migration season. It is an ideal time for photographers and travelers seeking a more exclusive safari experience.
The short rains transform the Mara into a lush green landscape. Birdwatching is excellent, the scenery is beautiful, and visitor numbers are lower. Wildlife viewing remains rewarding, especially for guests who enjoy photography and quieter safaris.
These are generally the wettest months in the Mara. While occasional rain can affect road conditions, guests benefit from lower rates, fewer vehicles, greener landscapes, and a more intimate wilderness experience.
Spectacular location on the Oloololo Escarpment with sweeping views of the Mara Triangle.
Excellent access to the Great Migration viewing areas.
Luxury suites and tents with private terraces and jacuzzis.
Personalized experiences including game drives, guided walks, Maasai cultural activities, wellness experiences, and bush dining.
Strong commitment to sustainability and community empowerment.
