A Boutique Maasai Manyatta-Style Eco-Lodge at the Foot of Oloolaimutia Gate
Endeem Mara Resort offers luxury accommodations in the heart of Masai Mara, with stunning views and exceptional service. Enjoy game drives, cultural visits, and exclusive safari experiences.
Endeem Mara Resort is a small three-star property of 11 units designed in the style of a Maasai manyatta, offering budget-friendly comfort on the doorstep of the Masai Mara. Fenced, family-friendly grounds, an inviting swimming pool with views over the plains and a relaxed evening campfire make it a practical, sociable base for travellers who want to spend their money on game drives rather than on the room.
The resort sits beside Oloolaimutia Gate on the eastern boundary of the Masai Mara National Reserve — about a one-minute drive or a short walk from the entrance — so guests are among the first vehicles onto the game-drive tracks each morning. The surrounding plains carry heavy wildebeest and zebra traffic during the July-to-October migration months, while resident big cats provide sightings across the rest of the year. Road access from Nairobi runs via Narok, roughly 250 km in five to six hours.
Accommodation comprises Standard and Deluxe rooms with twin or double beds, en-suite bathrooms with hot showers, air conditioning and private balconies or verandas facing the Mara plains. The intimate 11-unit layout keeps service personal, with a restaurant, bar and in-room dining rounding out the essentials.
Endeem works well as an affordable base for the Masai Mara National Reserve, and suits the Mara leg of the 8-day Kenya safari covering Amboseli and the Rift Valley lakes en route.
These spacious rooms feature twin or double beds, an en-suite bathroom, and a private balcony or veranda with views of the Mara plains. Designed for comfort and relaxation, the Standard Rooms offer a peaceful escape after a day of safari adventures.

By Road: Safaris depart Nairobi via the primary Rift Valley escarpment highway down through Narok town, taking a dirt track branching toward the eastern reserve gates. The overland journey covers 250 km and takes roughly 5 to 6 hours. High-clearance vehicles are highly recommended for the final approach road.
By Air: Scheduled safari flights depart daily from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport (WIL) and arrive at Keekorok Airstrip (AMB) inside the reserve in approximately 45 to 60 minutes. From Keekorok, the resort is located 43.5 km away, requiring an easy 1-hour 4x4 transfer drive through game-rich plains.
July to October – Peak Great Migration: Millions of wildebeest and zebras march into the surrounding Mara plains from the Serengeti. The dry weather makes it incredibly simple to spot massive herds and hunting predators right near the Oloolaimutia tracking tracks.
January to March – Warm Dry Window: Offers short grass and excellent visibility for tracking resident big cats (lions, leopards, and cheetahs). Tourist crowds are significantly smaller than the summer rush, offering great budget lodge rates.
November to December – Short Rains: Brief, refreshing afternoon showers turn the dusty plains green and vibrant. This is a magnificent season for photographic safaris due to the crisp, clear air and the arrival of thousands of migratory birds.
March to May – Long Rains / Low Season: The region receives its primary rain, turning the Mara into an emerald paradise. While some dirt tracks become muddy, room rates drop significantly, giving budget travelers an uncrowded, peaceful safari experience.
