Located on a 1,500-acre coffee estate near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, The Manor at Ngorongoro is one of Tanzania's most luxurious safari lodges. Its location makes it an excellent base for exploring Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and the Northern Safari Circuit while enjoying a unique Cape Dutch-style manor setting.
This is the most recommended period to visit. The dry season brings clear skies, excellent road conditions, and outstanding wildlife viewing in the Ngorongoro Crater. Animals gather around water sources, grass is shorter, and sightings of lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, and the endangered black rhino are easier.
This is another exceptional time to stay at The Manor. The nearby Ndutu plains host the Great Migration calving season, where thousands of wildebeest calves are born. Predator activity increases significantly, creating spectacular wildlife encounters. The landscapes are lush and green, making it a favorite period for photographers.
The short rains refresh the landscape, creating beautiful scenery and excellent birdwatching opportunities. Wildlife remains abundant in the crater, visitor numbers are lower, and the lodge offers a more tranquil experience.
These are the wettest months in the Ngorongoro Highlands. While occasional rain can affect travel plans, guests benefit from fewer visitors, greener landscapes, excellent photography opportunities, and often better accommodation rates.
