The camp sits just outside Kimana Gate on the edge of Amboseli National Park, with Africa's highest mountain rising directly to the south. By Air: The fastest and most convenient option is a scheduled flight from Nairobi's Wilson Airport to Amboseli Airstrip, which takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to the camp by road, enjoying wildlife sightings along the way.
By Road: Guests can drive from Nairobi via Emali and Kimana Town to the camp. The journey takes approximately 4–5 hours, covering about 220–250 km through scenic Maasai countryside. Kibo Safari Camp is located just 1.5–2 km from Kimana Gate, making it one of the closest camps to Amboseli National Park.
By Train (SGR): Travelers can take the Madaraka Express (SGR) from Nairobi to Emali Station, followed by a road transfer to the camp. This offers a comfortable alternative for guests looking to combine rail and road travel.

This is the prime time to visit Kibo Safari Camp. During the dry season, wildlife congregates around swamps and water sources, making game viewing exceptional. Large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species are commonly seen. Weather is generally sunny, and road conditions are excellent.
The short dry season is another outstanding time to stay at Kibo Safari Camp. Wildlife remains concentrated, the weather is pleasant, and photography conditions are excellent. This period often provides some of the clearest views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The short rains transform Amboseli into a lush green landscape. Birdwatching is superb, migratory birds are present, and the scenery becomes particularly photogenic. Wildlife viewing remains good, and visitor numbers are lower than during peak safari months.
