Life changing!

We have just returned from an incredible safari organised by Imara African Safaris, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. From the very beginning, Wendy was absolutely fantastic. This trip was particularly meaningful to me because my dad visited Salt Lick Safari Lodge over 25 years ago and sadly passed away last year. Returning there was something I had always hoped to do in his memory, and Wendy went above and beyond to make sure every detail was exactly as I wanted it. Her care, attention, and understanding made the experience even more special than I could have imagined. One of the things that immediately stood out was the personal service. It was such a lovely touch that the owner and members of the team took the time to come and meet us at the start of our trip. It made us feel genuinely valued as guests and showed how much they care about providing an exceptional experience from day one. Wendy also worked closely with my partner, who is now my fiancé, to help plan a truly unforgettable engagement during our trip. The proposal was perfectly organised and such a special moment for us both. As an extra touch, the team even created an engagement video for us to keep as a lifelong memory, which was incredibly thoughtful and something we will always treasure. The entire trip was seamless from start to finish, with excellent organisation, communication, and accommodation throughout. A special mention must also go to our guide, Edward. He was outstanding. His knowledge of the wildlife, landscapes, and local area was incredible, and no matter what question we asked, he always knew the answer. Beyond that, he was genuinely one of the friendliest, kindest, and most professional people we have met. His passion for what he does shone through every day and made our safari experience unforgettable. Thanks to Wendy, Edward, and the whole team at Imara African Safaris, we created memories that will stay with us forever. This was much more than just a holiday—it was a deeply personal journey, a chance to honour my dad’s memory, and the place where we got engaged. Unforgettable experience

Our trip to Kenya and Zanzibar with Imara Safari was truly the experience of a lifetime. From start to finish, everything was exceptionally well organised, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment of an unforgettable adventure. We travelled through Nairobi, the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Tsavo, and finished with a wonderful stay in Zanzibar. Each destination offered something unique, from incredible wildlife sightings and breathtaking landscapes to beautiful beaches and unforgettable memories. A special mention must go to our guide and driver, Eddie. His knowledge of the wildlife, local culture, and the parks was outstanding. He always went the extra mile to ensure we had the best possible experience, and his expertise helped us spot an amazing variety of animals throughout the trip. His passion for Kenya and its wildlife really enhanced our safari. I would also like to thank Wendy, who played a huge part in helping me organise a surprise proposal to my girlfriend at the stunning Salt Lick Safari Lodge. Everything was arranged perfectly, and it created a magical moment that we will cherish forever. The attention to detail and support from Wendy made the occasion completely stress-free and incredibly special. This was far more than just a holiday—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with adventure, romance, and memories that will stay with us forever. Shoutout to Imara for pulling off a flawless, last-minute Kenya itinerary with only a month’s notice! Everything from arrival to the safaris was perfectly organized - including a sweet birthday surprise they arranged for us. A special thanks to Symon, who is hands-down one of the best guides out there. His expert wildlife tracking, deep knowledge of animal behavior, and patience in helping us get the perfect photos made the trip. Plus, he was an absolute hit with our parents! Had a great trip with Imara! Although we had decided to do the Kenya trip with just a months time, Imara ensured we got the best experience. Right from the airport pickup to the safaris, everything was top notch! They even arranged a cake and a singing for a birthday we were celebrating. Simon is truly one of the best guides Imara has! He ensured we were on time and showed the best spottings we could have seen. He also put in effort to ensure that we get the best pictures. He is very experienced and answered all the queries we had, and also explained the different animal behaviours. Our parents, especially, loved his companionship. Overall, great Kenya experience through Imara. They are super responsive and answered all our queries during the booking phase. They also incorporated our requirements and tailor made the itinerary. Would highly recommend Imara for Kenya trip.

Excellent service start to finish. Our first shout out to Lincoln who was our POC for everything from booking the vacation, filling out stuff, answering all our questions and for being always responsive and helpful. Second shout out to the service we received while in the car and at the hotels. Strong free wifi always in the car no matter how remote the location we were in, we always had the fastest and reliable internet. A mini fridge with unlimited water and cold drinks for us at all times. While at the hotels we were always received with a warm welcome, an excellent service, amazing food options, helpful staff, clean and cozy rooms. Lastly, and biggest shout out to our amazing driver Patrick who drove us everywhere from start to finish. From picking us up from the hotels, taking us on game drives, patiently waiting for us to take pictures of all the beautiful animals no matter how many times we ask him to stop for a quick snap, for his impeccable driving skills in one of the most challenging terrains I have even experienced, for his absolutely incredible memory to remember every single location for our hotels, all the crazy roads without any sings, while still managing to find the best spots to see wildlife every single time. Patrick is one of the rare gems who knew was extremely patient with us, kind, caring and helpful. His knowledge of identifying every unique animal and bird was always on point. I cannot recommend enough how much we enjoyed as a family of 4, if we ever decide to do this all over again, we will not hesitate to book again with Imara African Safari.

Our experience with Imara was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end, and honestly exceeded even our very high expectations. The booking process was incredibly smooth. We were assisted by Lincoln, who was extremely patient, answered all of our questions, and gave us excellent recommendations throughout the planning process. He perfectly understood both what we wanted from the trip and our budget, and helped us find the best possible options in terms of value for money. Another major factor in our decision to book with Imara was their response time. When they say they are available 24/7, they truly mean it. Planning a safari involves a lot of back-and-forth communication, and having such fast, reliable responses made a huge difference and gave us a lot of confidence throughout the process. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless. We were welcomed at the airport by our guide in a very comfortable vehicle, and the next day we had the lovely surprise of being greeted by the entire Imara team at our hotel. Everyone was incredibly kind and thoughtful — they even brought us very cute (and genuinely useful) safari gifts — and they carefully reviewed the entire itinerary with us before the trip started. The overall structure and organization of the company are excellent. The safari vehicle was new, extremely comfortable, equipped with Wi-Fi, and stocked with cold water, soft drinks, and other amenities that made long game drives much more enjoyable. And then there was our guide, Simon — truly the soul of the trip. Before coming to Kenya, I had read many times that the guide can make or break a safari experience, and now I completely understand why. We could not have been luckier to have Simon as our guide. He is a true superstar. His knowledge about Kenya, the parks, wildlife, and animal behavior is incredibly extensive. Beyond that, he is an exceptionally careful and skilled driver, which made us feel safe and relaxed throughout the entire trip. His logistics and time-management skills were also impressive, ensuring we made the most of every day without ever feeling rushed. He was fun, professional, and deeply passionate about what he does. One thing that especially stood out to us was how committed he was to giving us the best wildlife sightings possible while still maintaining a very respectful attitude toward the animals and the safari environment. Unfortunately, we saw some vehicles from other companies behaving quite aggressively around wildlife, but Simon always prioritized respect for nature and ethical safari practices, which we appreciated enormously. All four accommodations we stayed at were fantastic and memorable in their own way. We also really appreciated the constant support from the Nairobi office throughout the journey — not just from Simon, who was with us every day, but also from the central team checking in frequently to make sure everything was going well. Overall, this trip was far beyond our expectations — and our expectations were already very high. Everything was smooth, beautifully organized, and completely stress-free from start to finish. I would recommend Imara without hesitation to anyone planning a safari in the region, and I would absolutely book with them again in the future.
