Kenya isn’t just about safari. There is a stunning coastline, with white sand beaches drenched in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, ready for you to explore too. With this tour, you get the best of both aspects of this wonderful country.
Your trip will begin exploring possibly the most iconic national reserve in all of Africa, the Masai Mara. The grasslands are home to some of the highest concentrations of wild animals on the continent and play host to the big five of African safari:
- Rhinos
- Elephants
- Buffalo
- Lions
- Leopards
And plenty more besides. Time at Lake Nakuru will also give you chance to spot some of the most exquisite bird species, and a visit to Samburu shows you a different landscape of Kenya.
Once you’ve spent time marveling at the wild animals of Kenya, we will take you to the coast for relaxation time on the beach. Leave behind the early starts and active days of safari life and do your own thing with no pre-planned itinerary.
This is a personal tour, booked only for you and your party and your guide and vehicle are dedicated only to you and your needs. When booking the tour, it is possible to arrange domestic flights between some parks to reduce your travel time and you can request extra days in some locations, with amendments subject to additional charges.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi - Masai Mara National Reserve (265 km, 5 - 6 hours)
A briefing from your guide starts your safari as we pick you up in Nairobi early in the morning. Your journey weaves its way through the Great African Rift Valley, an ancient landscape that is still in a state of flux; a place teeming with life and natural history. Stops are made for photo opportunities across the Suswa Ranges and Mount Longonot.
Lunch is served in Narok town, a hearty plate of local Kenyan food, followed by your arrival at your accommodation inside the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Drop your bags, take a moment to settle, then head out on your first game drive across the Serengeti plains.
The first wildlife safari experience will offer chances to see the animals you’ve dreamed about:

- Elephants
- Buffalo
- Leopards
- Rhino
Many more animals await your discovery as you embark on your African safari proper. You’ll take dinner at your accommodation, readying for the adventures ahead.
The first day of your Kenyan safari includes:
- Accommodation at your tented camp or lodge

Day 2 - Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
The Masai Mara evokes strong images of animals hunting, mass migrations of herds if herbivores, and acacia trees pocking the grasslands with spots of shade. These images will come to vivid life as you embark on a full day inside the park after breakfast at your accommodation.
Your day will be spent alongside your professional Kenyan safari guide, who will help you track, spot, and identify to awe-inspiring animals you’ve travelled so far to see. You will spend the day adventuring through the savanna, and if you’re lucky enough to visit between July and October you may just be able to witness the mass migration of the zebras and wildebeest of the Masai Mara.
Your lunch will be served picnic style so that you can spend the full day surrounded by nature and have chance to explore deep into the lands. After sunset in the park you will return to your camp or lodge for dinner and time to relax before your next day on safari in Africa.
The second day of your Kenyan safari includes:

Day 3 - Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve
No two days are the same out on the plains of Kenya. Your second day adventuring through the Masai Mara will show you more animals, deeper biodiversity, and a broader understanding of what living on these lands means to its inhabitants.
You’ll set out into the park after breakfast at your camp or lodge and take different tracks through the area, with the aim of seeing different animals and landscapes. Picnic lunch will be served on the bank of the Mara river, so that you can maximise your time out in the wilds.
The afternoon presents a special, optional chance to visit a village of the Masai people. You will be welcomed with a traditional song and dance and allowed to walk through their village and visit a home. The Masai people have lived their nomadic life across these lands for thousands of years and they invite you to explore their culture. As an additional activity, there is an extra cost of $25 per person for this visit.
Evening sees you return to your accommodation for dinner and chance to pack your bags ready for the morning’s departure. Day three of your African safari includes:

Day 4 - Masai Mara National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park (300 kms, 5 to 6 hours)
As your swansong to the Masai Mara, you will have one last game drive through the park as you depart after breakfast. In the early morning light, you may catch your last glimpses of animals such as
- Waterbuck
- Zebras
- Giraffes
- Gazelles
- Wildebeest
And many more as you bid farewell to this stunning part of Kenya.
From Masai Mara, we’ll track north towards Lake Nakuru, through the still-evolving landscape of the Great African Rift Valley. The volcanic landscape, characterised by rocky outcrops and acidic lakes, affords wonderful photographic opportunities en route to Lake Nakuru.
Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru, you will progress to your accommodation and take lunch and time to relax. The afternoon offers time for a game drive, in this park that is an ornithologist’s dream. There are over four hundred species of bird that live here, including bright pink flamingos that dance and display across the lake’s edges, ready to delight with their colourful feathers.
Following your afternoon by the lake, you’ll return to your camp or lodge for dinner and time to rest with evening views across the lakeside. This day of your African safari includes:

Day 5 - Lake Nakuru National Park – Samburu National Reserve (319 km, 6 to 7 hours)
Lake Nakuru offers more than just a vast array of avian life, there are white rhinos, giraffes, baboons, lions, and more that live in the park. With luck, your morning game drive after breakfast will give you chance to catch sightings of some of these animals, and more as you depart to Samburu National Reserve.
The drive across the Kenyan countryside takes you north and to higher altitudes, so you can watch how the landscape and crops change over the journey. Upon arrival at Samburu, you will head to your accommodation and have time for lunch and relaxation before your inaugural game drive in this particular park.
Your late afternoon game drive will show the park in the cool afternoon, as the animals become restless and the sun descends towards the horizon. The changing colours of the sky will offer you some great photographic moments and wonderful memories to take with you. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and time to unwind. The fifth day of your Kenyan safari includes:

Day 6 - Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
You’ll head out into the park for a long morning’s game drive after breakfast. In the Ewaso Ng’iro river lives hippos and Nile crocodiles that you may be luck enough to spot, as well as the three big cats of Africa:
- Lions
- Cheetahs
- Leopards
Just waiting to be found and photographed.
Lunch is served back at your accommodation and your afternoon can be spent at your leisure, taking advantage of the facilities such as spa treatments, swimming pools, and viewing decks, depending on which camp or lodge you choose.
Your late afternoon will be filled with another sunset game drive through Samburu watching the sky illuminate with myriad colours to end the day. Dinner is served back at your accommodation for the last full day of your safari adventure. Day six of your African safari includes:

Day 7 - Samburu National Reserve - Nairobi, then Diani by Plane (320 km, 5 - 6 hours, 1 hour flight)
After an early start and breakfast at your accommodation, we’ll head straight to Nairobi and Wilson airport to get you on your way to the coast. Your flight will take you from Wilson airport to Ukunda airport and to your days of relaxation.
Upon arrival, we will collect you and take you to your chosen hotel or resort in Diani. Dinner will be served at your accommodation and you can spend the evening perusing the available activities you can do in this beachside town.
Whether you want to organize snorkeling, water sports, or spa treatments, you can ask us for advice and make your bookings locally to get the most out of your time here. The seventh day of your Africa safari adventure includes:

- Overnight stay in Diani beachside town

Day 8 - Full Day in Diani Beach
After your action-packed days exploring the wilds of Kenya, with early starts and days filled with game drives, now it’s time to change pace. Your time is your own in Diani, whether you choose to lay by to pool or on the pristine white sands on the beach, or take part in something more active, the day is up to you.
Included in the eight day of your Kenyan trip is:

Day 9 - Full Day in Diani Beach
Activities abound in Diani, if you want to keep up some of the adventurous pace you set whilst travelling around the Great African Rift Valley. You can take a trip on a glass bottomed boat or take a snorkelling trip, or if your bones are weary after days in the safari van you can indulge in massage and spa treatments.
This is your last full day exploring Kenya and spending time on the beach so be sure to do exactly as your heart desires. The penultimate day of your trip around Kenya includes:

Day 10 - Diani - Nairobi by Plane
The afternoon departure of your scheduled flight to Nairobi allows you a relaxed morning to savour your breakfast and spend your final hours at the pool or beach or shopping for souvenirs. We’ll get you to the airport in plenty of time for your flight and collect you again at Wilson airport in Nairobi.
The next steps are down to you, if you have your onward flight out of Kenya booked for this evening, we will take you to Jomo Kenyatta airport for you to carry on your trip. If you have chosen to stay in Kenya one more evening, we will happily take you to your booked hotel or residence before parting ways.
The final day of your Kenyan safari and beach adventure includes
