7-Day Kenya Safari to Amboseli, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru & Masai Mara
This 7-day Kenya safari is a private journey from Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve. It is designed for travelers who want a beautiful mix of wildlife, landscapes, lake experiences, culture and classic Big Five game drives in one well-planned itinerary.
Your safari begins with a warm welcome in Nairobi before driving to Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic parks. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially in the early morning when the skies are often brighter. After arrival, you will settle in and enjoy an evening game drive, a perfect introduction to Kenya’s wildlife.
The second day is fully dedicated to Amboseli. You will explore open plains, swamps, woodlands and seasonal wetlands in a private 4x4 safari Land Cruiser. Wildlife commonly seen here includes elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, lions, hyenas and many bird species. Since the safari is private, your guide can help adjust the day’s timing to suit your comfort and interests.
From Amboseli, the journey continues to Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley. Here, you will enjoy a relaxing boat ride and a guided Crescent Island nature walk, compliments of Imara Africa Safaris. This part of the itinerary adds a peaceful lake experience, with chances to see hippos, fish eagles, waterbirds, giraffes, zebras and antelopes.
The next stop is Lake Nakuru National Park, a beautiful park known for flamingos, pelicans, rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes and scenic lake views. It is one of the best places on this route to look for both black and white rhinos while enjoying the landscapes of the Rift Valley.
Your safari then continues to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. On arrival, you will enjoy a Maasai village visit with an optional moran-led nature walk. The following day is dedicated to full-day game drives across the Mara plains, where you may see lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and other wildlife. From July to October, the Masai Mara may also offer a seasonal chance to witness the Great Migration.
The safari ends with a scenic drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon for a farewell lunch before your homebound flight. This safari is ideal for couples, families and small groups looking for a private, flexible and memorable Kenya wildlife experience.
