Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park is one of Kenya's most treasured marine destinations and is widely regarded as the country's finest marine park. Located near Shimoni and Wasini Island on Kenya's southern coast, close to the Tanzanian border, the park protects a rich marine ecosystem that rivals some of the world's best snorkeling and diving destinations.
Established in 1978, the marine park covers approximately 39 square kilometers and forms part of the larger Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Protected Area. The park consists of four small coral islands surrounded by pristine coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and abundant marine life.
The park is internationally famous for its spectacular coral gardens, which host more than 250 species of coral and hundreds of species of tropical fish.
