Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi - Taita hill Wildlife Sanctuary (400 km, 6 - 7 hours)
To give you as long as possible surrounded by nature, we will collect you from your hotel or residence, or even the airport if timings fit, at 6am. From Nairobi we will take you southwards and through some lovely countryside, where you can see daily life unfold at the roadside.
Lunch will be served upon your arrival, after which you can take some time to acquaint yourself with your luxury safari lodge. There are spa treatments and viewing decks, as well as comfortable beds and hot showers if that’s what you need after the journey across the country.
Afternoon affords you chance to embark on your first game drive through Taita Hills. Some of the many animals you encounter include
- Cheetah
- Lion
- Giraffe
- Elephant
- Wildebeest
Along with many others that make this sanctuary their home. Your expert guide will be able to help your spot and identify the wonderous beasts you encounter as the sun begins to fall behind the horizon, giving great shades of background to your photographs.
Evening is spent back at Sarova Salt Lick’s lovely location, with dinner served overlooking the floodlit watering hole where you can watch animals take their fill in the stillness of the night. Your first day on luxury safari includes:

Day 2 - Full Day in Taita Hill Wildlife Sanctuary
Can you think of a more perfect view to wake up to than the plains of the African savanna, peppered with wild animals? Sarova Salt Lick offers these vistas from all of their rooms, ensuring you an immersive experience during your luxury safari holiday.
After you’ve had breakfast, we will take you out on another game drive. Here is another chance to see the animals you’ve always dreamed of, roaming free in their natural, protected habitat. The luxury safari vehicle will ensure your comfort along this rugged land, whilst your guide will make sure you see as many animals as possible.
Return to Salt Lick for lunch and take time to view the plains from the terraces or soothe your muscles with the spa treatments on offer, with additional fees applicable.
You have an option of an additional afternoon game, or you can opt to stay at Sarova Salt Lick and watch the wildlife gather at the watering hole. Whichever option you choose, dinner will be served at the lodge again giving you great views over the plains of Taita Hills.
The second night of your luxury safari trip includes:

Day 3 - Taita hill Wildlife Sanctuary - Nairobi (400 km, 6 - 7 hours)
An early start to the day will give you fresh perspective on your luxury safari experience. As light begins to open up across the grasslands once more, the nocturnal animals return to the homes and the animals that live in the light begin their mating rituals and daily battle for survival. All of this can be seen during your early morning game drive.
Fully sated from the morning’s escapades, you will return to Sarova Salt Lick and have breakfast. Check-out from the lodge is 10am and you can take this time between your meal and departure at your leisure.
On the journey back to Nairobi you can request to stop at the town of Mtito for lunch, which is an additional cost depending on where and what you choose to eat. You can expect to arrive back in Nairobi in the early evening, around 6pm, where you can request a hotel, residence, or airport drop-off. The final day of your luxury safari includes:
- No accommodation, this is the last day
- Breakfast, no lunch or dinner
- Drinking water, other drinks are extra
