Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by an Imara Africa Safaris representative and briefed about your Kenya safari. After meeting your private guide, you will begin the scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, traveling through the Kenyan countryside toward one of the country’s most photogenic safari destinations.
Upon arrival in Amboseli, you will enjoy lunch and take some time to relax before your first safari activity. In the evening, head out for your first game drive in Amboseli National Park. The park is famous for its open plains, seasonal wetlands, large elephant herds, and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days.
This first game drive is a beautiful introduction to your safari. As the sun begins to lower over the plains, you may see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, birdlife, and possibly lions depending on wildlife movement and timing. After the game drive, return for dinner and overnight in the Amboseli area.

Today is dedicated to exploring Amboseli National Park, one of Kenya’s most scenic wildlife areas. You will begin with an early morning game drive when animals are often more active and the morning skies may offer clear views of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is an excellent time for photography, especially with elephants moving across the plains.
Amboseli is known for its large elephant herds, wetlands, open grasslands, acacia woodland, and rich birdlife. During your game drives, you may encounter elephants, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, gazelles, and many bird species. Wildlife sightings depend on the season, weather, and natural animal movement.
A picnic lunch in the park allows you to continue exploring without leaving the safari area during the middle of the day. Since this is a fully private safari, you can discuss your preferred timing with your guide and adjust the day’s flow according to your interests, comfort, and photography needs.
As the day winds down, return for relaxation, dinner, and overnight in the Amboseli area.

After breakfast, depart Amboseli and begin your journey toward Lake Naivasha, one of the most peaceful freshwater lakes in the Great Rift Valley. The drive offers changing scenery as you travel from Amboseli’s open plains toward the Rift Valley region, with a stop at a viewpoint for photos and a chance to appreciate the landscape.
Upon arrival in Lake Naivasha, you will enjoy lunch before heading out for your afternoon activities. You will enjoy a relaxing boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you may see hippos, fish eagles, water birds, and beautiful lakeside scenery. Boat rides are subject to weather and lake conditions.
After the boat ride, continue to Crescent Island for a guided walking safari. This experience allows you to explore on foot in a safe and open environment where you may walk near giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other plains wildlife. It is a gentle and memorable contrast to traditional vehicle-based game drives.
Return for dinner and overnight in the Lake Naivasha area.

Begin the day with breakfast before visiting Hell’s Gate National Park, one of Kenya’s most unique and adventurous parks. Here, you will enjoy a guided cycling experience through dramatic landscapes of cliffs, open plains, and volcanic formations. Hell’s Gate is one of the few parks in Kenya where visitors can explore by bicycle and on foot, making it a special addition to this itinerary.
During the cycling experience and nature walk, you may see zebras, giraffes, gazelles, warthogs, and birdlife, depending on the route and conditions. The scenery is the main highlight, with striking rock formations, gorges, and open landscapes creating a very different atmosphere from the traditional safari parks.
Later, proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park. In the evening, enjoy a game drive in the park, which is known for rhino viewing opportunities, flamingos depending on water levels, lakeshore scenery, acacia woodland, and diverse birdlife. You may also see buffalo, giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, baboons, and other wildlife.
Return for dinner and overnight in the Lake Nakuru area.

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and begin the scenic journey toward the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the beautiful Rift Valley countryside and toward one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems. Upon arrival in the Masai Mara area, you will have time to relax before the afternoon activities.
Later in the day, enjoy a cultural visit to a traditional Maasai village. This visit offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about Maasai customs, traditions, dress, dances, homestead life, and the community’s deep connection to the land. It is a valuable cultural experience that adds human context to the landscapes you are exploring.
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a guided nature walk, offering a slower and more personal connection to the environment. Your guide may help you understand tracks, plants, smaller wildlife signs, and the local landscape. If you prefer not to take the nature walk, you can be dropped off by vehicle at the village instead.
Return for dinner and overnight in the Masai Mara area.

Spend the entire day exploring the vast plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve on extensive private game drives. With your expert guide, you will search for wildlife across the savannah, riverine areas, and open grasslands, following natural animal movement and seasonal patterns.
The Masai Mara is known for lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, and a wide variety of birdlife. You will have a chance to search for the Big Five, although sightings depend on the season, location, and wildlife behavior. If traveling during the migration season, some areas of the Mara may also offer opportunities to see large herds of wildebeest and zebras.
A picnic lunch in the reserve allows you to maximize your time in the wild and explore more of the Mara without returning during the day. Since your safari is fully private, you can discuss your preferred pace with your guide, whether you prefer photography, relaxed wildlife viewing, longer drives, or specific animal interests.
In the evening, return for relaxation, dinner, and overnight in the Masai Mara area.
