How do you combine Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda?

The classic build is Kenya + Tanzania for big game and the migration, then Uganda or Rwanda for gorillas. A popular routing is the Masai Mara → Serengeti → Ngorongoro, followed by a flight to Bwindi (Uganda) or Volcanoes (Rwanda) for mountain gorilla trekking. Allow 10–18 days. Because borders, visas, gorilla permits and bush flights all have to align, it's a trip best run by a single operator — we handle every connection so you simply enjoy it.

My wife and I spent four days in the Maasai Mara on our honeymoon, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience than what Imara Africa Safaris provided! Our guide, Simon, was absolutely fantastic. He picked us up from the airstrip and drove us throughout the park for all four days. His knowledge of the park and its wildlife was seriously impressive. One of the highlights was watching him have a quick conversation with another guide, drive a few kilometers, and somehow find three male lions resting under a tree before any other vehicles had arrived. It was amazing to see just how well he knew the park and the animals. Every day we went out, we saw an incredible variety of wildlife. We were lucky enough to spot a leopard, which is relatively rare to see, along with many lions, zebras, buffalo, giraffes, and some amazing close encounters with elephants. What I loved most was how natural and immersive the experience felt. There were moments when it genuinely felt like we were sharing the environment with the animals rather than just observing them, like you would at a zoo. Those were some of the most memorable parts of the entire trip. Simon was also an incredibly skilled driver, confidently navigating some pretty difficult terrain, including river crossings. He seemed to know every corner of the park and was often giving advice to other guides as well. He knew so much about the animals, frequently pointing out individual family members and explaining their roles and relationships. Another highlight was the picnic breakfasts and lunches he set up for us in beautiful spots under the trees. Those moments were really special and made our honeymoon even more memorable. Wendy and the rest of the Imara Africa Safaris team were wonderful as well. Every part of our trip was thoughtfully planned and perfectly organized, so we never had to worry about a thing and could just enjoy the experience. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better safari experience. A huge thank you to Simon, Wendy, and the entire team! We’ll absolutely be reaching out to Imara Africa Safaris again for our next trip to Africa!

The overall experience was better than I could ever have expected! I found Imara Africa Safaris through Google, and the whole planning process was very easy. I just told them what I wanted, which was a few days in the Masai Mara and in Zanzibar, and Wendy came up with the perfect itinerary. I really loved how even though we had a plan at the beginning of the trip, it was very easy to change things around if we were too tired or just changed our minds. We stayed at Neptune Mara for the first 4 days and had Simon as our safari guide. He was very knowledgeable of not only the animals but also the park, which is very handy when searching for animals around the park. We did a safari tour each day, and every day I was more amazed by what I saw. The vehicle was also great since it had WiFi and drinks, and it was very comfortable. The hotel was also perfect; it was very clean, the food was great, there was a bar, pool, laundry service, and our butler, Moses, went above and beyond for us. Moses kept our room very clean, and I loved coming back from the safaris to a clean room to relax. Overall, I had the perfect time in Neptune! The people made it even better, and I would recommend booking any trip through Imara Africa Safaris!!

More Than a Safari – An Unforgettable Honeymoon Our Kenya Safari with Imara Africa Safaris 11th–20th September 2026. We couldn’t recommend Imara Africa Safaris enough. From the moment we first spoke to Wendy, the owner, we knew we’d found the right company for our honeymoon. We had previously received quotes from UK travel companies, but they didn’t seem to understand the itinerary we wanted and the prices were ridiculously high. I then found Imara through Tripadvisor and SafariBookings. Wendy completely understood what we wanted from the start and, after so many WhatsApp conversations, genuinely became more of a friend than just the person organising our trip. Wendy created our perfect itinerary: 2 nights at The Glee Hotel in Nairobi, 3 nights at Soroi Samburu Lodge and 4 nights at Neptune Mara Rianta Luxury Tented Camp in the Maasai Mara. She organised all our accommodation, bush flights, transfers and activities, and everything ran seamlessly. She even arranged a VIP chauffeur at Nairobi Airport at customs to take us through arrivals seamlessly and personally met us when we arrived. The following day, Wendy came to see us again with her husband to introduce us properly to our guide, Simon. They also brought us some beautiful gifts and keepsakes to take home, which was such a thoughtful personal touch and something we’ll be able to keep forever. Simon was fantastic throughout the safari. We had our own private Toyota Land Cruiser and his knowledge of the wildlife was incredible. We saw elephants, cheetahs, Grevy’s zebras, Nile crocodiles, huge numbers of wildebeest and some unforgettable lion sightings, including a lion dragging a kill and lion cubs with their mum. Simon also collected our larger suitcases the day before we flew by bush plane and drove them ahead to our next camp. With the luggage restrictions on the bush flights, this was a massive help, especially as we were travelling for three weeks. We could simply pack an overnight bag and take that with us. Wendy also arranged our hot air balloon safari, bush breakfast, picnic lunches and private sundowners. One was a complete surprise, with Kenyan snacks and drinks while we watched the sunset. Our safari vehicle was also stocked with soft drinks and beers - all the little details were so thoughtful. Everything ran perfectly from 11th–20th September. We never had to worry about the logistics and could simply enjoy the experience. A huge thank you to Wendy, Simon and the whole Imara team for giving us such an incredible honeymoon. The service was genuinely 5-star, and we’re already talking about when we can return to Kenya and explore more of Africa. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Imara to anyone planning a safari.

One operator across four countries — no reseller chain

Multi-country safaris are the hardest trips to get right: borders, visas, gorilla permits, bush flights and multiple lodges all have to align to the day. Booking through a reseller stacks markups and risky hand-offs between suppliers in each country. We coordinate the entire journey ourselves, with trusted on-the-ground partners we work with directly.

One team coordinating all four countries
Gorilla permits secured and timed by us
All flights, transfers & borders handled
No stacked reseller markups per country
One accountable contact for the whole trip
KATO bonded — payments protected, 24/7 support
A four-country safari has a hundred moving parts, and a single missed connection can unravel the lot. Running these trips ourselves — and timing the gorilla permit to the exact day you arrive — is how we turn an ambitious itinerary into a journey that simply flows.
