Mit dem Auto: Die Fahrt von Nairobi führt über die asphaltierte Hauptstraße entlang des Steilhangs des Großen Afrikanischen Grabenbruchs durch die Stadt Narok. Dort biegen Sie auf die asphaltierte Straße C12 ab, die direkt zum Sekenani-Tor führt. Die Fahrtstrecke beträgt ca. 250 km und dauert etwa 5 bis 6 Stunden. Das Camp ist sehr gut erreichbar, da die Zufahrtsstraße bis zum Torbereich komplett asphaltiert ist.
Mit dem Flugzeug: Täglich starten Linienflüge für Safaris vom Flughafen Wilson (WIL) in Nairobi und landen auf dem nahegelegenen Flugplatz Keekorok (AMB) im Reservat. Der Flug dauert etwa 45 bis 60 Minuten. Vom Flugfeld Keekorok aus bietet das Camp eine bequeme 4x4-Transferfahrt durch wildreiche Ebenen, die etwa 30 bis 45 Minuten bis zum Anwesen dauert.

Best Time to Visit

Juli bis Oktober – Die Große Migration: Millionen von Gnus und Zebras strömen aus der Serengeti in das Reservat. Die Trockenheit lässt die dichte Vegetation verschwinden, sodass man die riesigen Herden und die Aktivitäten der Raubtierrudel direkt am Eingang des Sekenani-Sektors hervorragend beobachten kann. Januar bis März – Die Trockenzeit: Kurzes Gras und warme Tage bieten exzellente Sicht. Dies ist ein ideales Zeitfenster, um die ansässigen Großkatzen (Löwen, Leoparden und Geparden) am Fuße der Ngama-Berge zu beobachten, da deutlich weniger Touristenfahrzeuge unterwegs sind. November bis Dezember – Die kurze Regenzeit: Kurze Nachmittagsschauer reinigen den Himmel und sorgen für optimale Lichtverhältnisse für professionelle Fotografie. Die Landschaft erstrahlt in sattem Grün und heißt Tausende farbenprächtiger Zugvogelarten willkommen.

April bis Mai – Die lange Regenzeit / Nebensaison: In dieser Zeit erlebt die Region ihren Hauptregen, der die Mara in ein smaragdgrünes Paradies verwandelt.
