Nestled on Lion Hill inside Lake Nakuru National Park, this lodge offers spectacular views of Lake Nakuru, excellent rhino sightings, abundant birdlife, and easy access to the park's famous wildlife areas. The lodge is particularly renowned for its location overlooking the lake and its proximity to both black and white rhino habitats.
This is generally considered the best period to visit Lake Nakuru National Park. The weather is drier, vegetation is less dense, and wildlife is easier to spot around water sources. Game drives are more comfortable, and the park's famous rhinos, lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous bird species are frequently seen.
These months provide outstanding wildlife viewing conditions. The dry season means animals are concentrated around available water sources, making sightings more predictable. This is also one of the busiest periods, especially for international visitors combining Lake Nakuru with Maasai Mara safaris.
Lake Nakuru is famous for its birdlife, with over 400 bird species recorded. The short-rain season and early dry season attract migratory birds, creating excellent opportunities for birdwatchers and photographers. Wildlife viewing remains excellent during this period.
The park becomes lush and beautiful after the rains. Visitor numbers are lower, accommodation rates may be more attractive, and newborn animals are often seen. However, April and May are the wettest months, and some game drives may be affected by rain.
